GUEST SPEAKER
We are honored to have Mr. Gatot S. Prawiro, M.Sc., CBDO (Chief Business Development Officer), Maxpower Group, join us for a special presentation on “Virtual Pipeline & Distributed Power: a solution”.

Gatot has founded and led 3 companies, enjoying the challenges and rewards of developing clean and renewable energy projects including being involved in an 120MW Waste to Energy project, a 7MW Tri-Gen Gas Engine Project, an 8MW PV Solar System Feasibility Study and Project Development initiative, and various MiniHydro and BioMass Power Plants.
In addition to Mr. Prawiro´s presentation, Carsten Dommermuth, Managing Director APAC, Vice President Jenbacher will give a key note speech entitled “The changing Energy Industry in APAC”, focusing on the main drivers for a sustainable development, LNG-to power Solutions and clean gas for the coal and oil to gas switch in the region, and how Life Cycle and Financial modelling can define the ROI for new power generation projects.
During the webinar we will also share with you the following case studies:
Case study -> “Turning Liquid Natural Gas Challenges into Opportunities “ – INDONESIA
As the largest archipelagic country in the world, Indonesia has more than 17,000 islands, so getting electricity to all Indonesians is a big challenge. The major islands (Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi) except Papua already have various types of power plants and a very adequate distribution network. To date, the outermost areas and smaller islands meet their electricity needs with diesel-fuelled power plants.
With the development of natural gas production in Indonesia, coupled with the expiration of the LNG supply contract to Japan by the Indonesian government, gas in Indonesia is now very abundant. Indonesia's natural gas reserves to date are 62.4 trillion cubic feet, with proven reserves of 43.6 trillion cubic feet. To address domestic needs, the government introduced a Domestic Market Obligation regulation that requires gas to be used as fuel for power plants, including for diesel-power displacement.
The latest 2021-2030 PLN Power Development Plan, combined with the Industrial and Mining sector, presents a potential total demand for about 700 MW of gas engine power plants in Indonesia, with typical capacity in the range of 10 MW to 20 MW per site. Jenbacher Types J620, J624, and J920 FleXtra are very suitable to fill this opportunity because of their footprint, efficiency, and emissions. The complementing issue is the need for micro/SS LNG infrastructure to deliver gas into these locations.
With this challenge, IPP developers, micro/SS LNG midstreamers, financiers, EPC/F and relevant others can join INNIO in presenting effective and efficient solution to address Indonesia’s immediate deployment of clean energy. Together, let’s turn this challenge into real opportunity.
This case study should especially interest power professionals in Indonesia, Australia, Myanmar, and the Philippines.
“Jenbacher is ready for Hydrogen” – Asia Pacific and Beyond
Power generation with hydrogen and carbon neutrality is on everyone´s mind these days.
It is a global transition that is centred on the transformation from a largely fossil-based to a low or even net-zero energy system. This implies strong growth of the well-known renewable power generation solutions such as the volatile wind and solar PV (RES). But maintaining a stable and steady energy supply requires a flexible backup solution, which can be provided by dispatchable power plants, ideally with flexible engines running on renewable gases. Jenbacher is well positioned as a thought leader on green energy sources, and in this presentation Dr. Payrhuber to take attendees through why Jenbacher engines are an excellent technology providing affordable distributed power and heat with high fuel utilization rates above 90% while running on a wide range of carbon free or carbon neutral fuels making them a dispatchable renewable energy source.
This case study should interest energy professionals in Korea, Japan, Indonesia, and Singapore.
“Drawing on experience – the biogas and special gas boom in Asia”
For a wide range of organic substances from agriculture, foodstuff or feed industries, anaerobic fermentation is a superior alternative to composting. Biogas – a mixture of methane and carbon dioxide – is created during anaerobic fermentation and serves as a high energy, renewable fuel that can be used as a substitute for fossil fuels. Biogas-fueled gas engines improve waste management while maximizing the use of an economical energy supply.
Jenbacher gas engine technology enables customers to realize the maximum economic and ecological benefits available from utilizing biogas for power generation. About 5,400 Jenbacher biogas systems with a total electrical output of approximately 4,800 MW have been delivered worldwide.
During this presentation, Jenbacher´s experts will share their knowledge about how biogas is created and utilized. Jenbacher will also present our biogas engine product and biogas reference projects in Asia.
This case study should be of special interest to people from Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia.
