Moona Ederveen-Schneider
Executive Director Europe, Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC)

Moona Ederveen-Schneider is the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Centre (FS-ISAC)'s Executive Director for Europe; representing the organisation to members and partner organisations, she coordinates strategic and service delivery activities in the region.

FS-ISAC's members jointly protect over $100tn globally and the majority of UK financial institutions participate. Moona is based in London and her passion for information security was sparked when she was 16 and attending conferences like DefCon and CCC.

After graduating cum laude from the University of Amsterdam, she joined the Information Security team at ABN Amro. Moona built expertise as cyber security and risk management consultant throughout her career at various international banks such as Deutsche Bank, Nomura, JPMorgan Chase, and UBS.

Moona speaks fluent German, English, and Dutch.

As Standard Chartered’s Global Head, Cyber Partnerships & Third-Party Security Risk Oversight, Nina Paine is committed to building strong and sustainable public-private partnerships to address cyber risks more efficiently. In liaising with, amongst others, regulators, industry associations and law enforcement, she seeks to enhance all parties’ understanding of the critical role each plays in securing cyberspace for global communities.

She is experienced in the creation of organisational cyber strategies to support business objectives, board, executive and regulatory reporting on cyber risk, and strategic intelligence.

Nina spent over a decade at the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (NCA), leading European, multi-site teams in the UK and abroad to fight organised crime; encouraging international colleagues to join forces to better protect victims of crime.

Alister Shepherd
CISO, Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)

Alister Shepherd is the Chief Information Security Officer for the Financial Conduct Authority, where he has been since December 2021.

Alister has nineteen years of experience working in security and incident response, both inside government and in the private sector. This has included extensive experience of managing organisational responses to sophisticated cyber intrusions by nation state and organised crime groups.

Prior to joining the FCA, Alister was a Managing Director at Mandiant, heading up teams across EMEA providing advice and expertise on cyber security to governments and private sector companies, including major incident response services.

John Skipper
CISO, Metro Bank

John Skipper joined Metro Bank as Chief Information Security Officer in 2019 after a 20-year career in cyber consulting. He is accountable to the Board and ExCo for cyber, infosec and data protection, and has kicked off an ambitious programme of improvements across all three areas.

As the UK’s first new High Street bank in 150 years, Metro Bank already has 79 branches and a strong presence in mobile and internet banking, with over 2.5 million accounts. John and his team therefore face a unique and interesting set of cyber challenges.

In John’s previous career, he has provided cyber advice ranging from developing national policy through insider risk management to defining technical architecture. He has worked in multiple sectors including national security, defence, financial services, energy, travel and education, and for organisations ranging from start-ups to global banks and critical national infrastructure. He therefore draws on a very broad range of experience, but his heart is in banking.

Director - Cyber and Third Party Risk, UK Finance

Ian Burgess is Director of Cyber and Third-Party Risk at UK Finance.

Ian leads UK Finance’s operational and policy work on cybersecurity and third-party risk management. In this role he leads responses to regulatory papers both in the UK and internationally, while also regularly engaging with key stakeholders to determine the applicability of collective action initiatives on behalf of the financial sector. Most notably he operationalised the Financial Sector Cyber Collaboration Centre (FSCCC), a unique industry utility designed to promote cyber intelligence sharing amongst financial institutions.

Before joining UK Finance, Ian worked in technology risk at BNY Mellon, where he led the development and deployment of a global framework to map controls to global cyber, technology and data privacy regulations, and before that served as a British Army Officer for eight years.
