UDS Bootloaders are an absolute necessity in automotive electronics. They are the get-out-of-jail card for issues in the field, enabling software updates for vehicles after they have been sold. UDS Bootloaders are complex and are needed right at the start of any project to enable application updates as the ECU is developed. Unfortunately the bootloader is often left towards the end as they are not the reason the ECU exists. ECUs are developed to control motors, manage batteries, lock doors, and provide climate control and much more. The development team is understandably focused on the features that the customer is paying for and have complex integration issues to overcome.
During the webinar we will describe a new solution, OmniBooter. An off-the-shelf UDS bootloader that you can use now, right at the start of your project. It is totally configurable and fully meets the ISO 14229 standard. We will describe and explore its innovatively structured architecture and how this means it can be ported to any hardware. We will look at just a few of the many boards it has been ported onto to illustrate its flexibility. An important feature of any bootloader is security, the ECU it protects must not be hackable. OmniBooter’s security features will be highlighted and you will see that even for smaller low-cost microcontrollers that security should never be compromised.
With a great overview of the OmniBooter technology and flexibility we will step through how to create your bespoke bootloader with the OmniBooter configuration tools. You will see how to set up the communications, configure the memory map and define the security keys. After generating the bespoke bootloader it can be directly flashed onto the microcontroller. So from then on the application can be updated with the OmniBooter Flashing tools.
Come to the webinar to learn all about OmniBooter. Discover the security features of the Software Security module. How you can configure it to your needs. And see the small footprint of OmniBooter for lower-cost microcontrollers. The new super configurable, cyber secure and very small automotive bootloader that you can get going in less than an hour.
